Aunt Regina's Onion Soup

Serves: 4

5 big onion, half-moon sliced

4 tbsp butter

1 tbsp flour

4 cups of beef brodo (or any stock, or broth)

Salt & pepper to taste

Parmesan cheese to top it off (if desired)


  1. Heat up a large pan in medium heat, melt the butter and add the onions. Caramelize the onions in low heat, stirring constantly, until golden brown and super translucent, about 15 min.
  2. Shift the flour to the pan, stirring along so it doesn’t clump, add the brodo, still in low heat for an extra 10 minutes, to incorporate all the ingredients.
  3. Serve and sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top. You can even broil for a few minutes, for an extra touch.
